Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-13
This policy explains the cookies and similar storage UniMeet uses. The short version: we only use strictly necessary cookies — no advertising, no social-media trackers. Our only analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) is cookieless: it stores no cookies and no browser storage.
Cookies we set
- sb-* (Supabase auth session) — strictly necessary. Keeps you signed in securely. Lifetime: up to 400 days (the browser maximum) or until you sign out.
- NEXT_LOCALE — strictly necessary/preference. Remembers which language (Greek or English) you chose. Lifetime: your browser session — it expires when you close the browser or clear cookies.
Local storage (not cookies)
- theme — remembers whether you chose light or dark mode. Stored in your browser's local storage, not sent to our servers.
Third-party requests
- Map tiles: when you use the meetup map picker, your browser loads map imagery from Esri's tile servers (server.arcgisonline.com). Esri receives your IP address and standard request headers under their own terms. No cookies are set by us for this.
- Fonts: Manrope and Inter are self-hosted — no third-party font requests.
Analytics (no cookies)
- We measure aggregate, anonymized traffic with Vercel Web Analytics. It records page URLs, referrers, approximate country and browser/operating-system type — nothing that identifies you.
- No cookies, no localStorage: visitors are distinguished only by a hash of the request (IP + user agent) that resets every day, so nobody can be followed across days or across other websites.
- You cannot opt out of aggregate measurement separately because nothing identifying is collected and nothing is stored on your device — but any blocker or 'Do Not Track' setting that blocks the request stops it entirely.
Controlling cookies
Because we only set strictly necessary cookies, there is nothing to opt out of. If you block or delete all cookies in your browser, sign-in and your language preference will stop working, but nothing else changes. You can clear cookies at any time in your browser settings.
